Raised by Wolves Season 3 Release Date: Confirmation on Renewal or Cancellation!

The second season of Raised By Wolves has come to a close, and our brains are melting even faster than poor Ville’s face. Despite the fact that the season two finale contains a great deal of information, it is more of a pause in the action than an official conclusion.

Overall, there will be plenty more religious iconography and f**ked-up sci-fi shenanigans to look forward to if the show is renewed for a second season. Aaron Guzikowski, the showrunner, revealed to Collider in February 2022 that he has already begun writing scripts for season three:

“After all, who knows whether or not it will be ordered to production, or even if we’ll get to that point. But I have to keep working on it because, even if it is ordered, we will have no source material, so I have to keep writing it until it is finished.

“As long as the show is on, I consider it to be the center of my entire universe.” In a way, I’m like a method actor, except that I’m a method writer, and all I have to do is exist in this world.”

So, what’s next for Raised By Wolves and the rest of the cast? So get yourself some mangled fruit from Sue’s Tree of Life and come on over to thecurrent-online with us as we take a closer look at the third season of Raised By Wolves.

Raised by Wolves Season 3 Expected Release Date

Between seasons one and two, Raised By Wolves was plagued by COVID-related production delays, so there isn’t a clear pattern to draw from this. However, assuming that the show is renewed soon, expect to see season three sometime in 2023 at the earliest.

In more specific terms, we anticipate that new episodes will be released later in the year, most likely in the second half of the year. There’s a lot of weird stuff in this film that the CGI artists will need time to pixellate.

Raised by Wolves Season 3 Expected Cast

Following the shocking conclusion, everyone’s favorite serpent baby is no longer alive, and the same can be said for Morgan Santo’s Ville, who has also passed away. So, who will be returning for season three without a doubt? We have put together a shortlist of our most likely candidates:

  • Amanda Collin plays the role of Mother/Lamia.
  • Abubakar Salim in the role of Father.
  • Campion is played by Winta McGrath.
  • Tempest is played by Jordan Loughran.
  • Paul is played by Felix Jamieson.
  • Hunter is played by Ethan Hazzard.
  • Holly is played by Aasiya Shah.
  • Vita is played by Ivy Wong.
  • Lucius is played by Matias Varela.
  • Selina Jones in the role of Grandmother.

Niamh Algar will not be returning as Sue/Mary due to the fact that she has transformed into a tree. But, at the very least, she survived to season two, as the original plan had been to kill off this character at the conclusion of season one.

Travis Fimmel’s fate in the role of Marcus/Caleb, on the other hand, is a little more complicated. His death appears to be confirmed at the end of season two, but he then reappears upside-down in the air above the tree, seemingly revived from his apparent death. This implies that Marcus has become a vessel for the Entity, but what exactly does this mean? That would imply that Travis Fimmel will be returning, even if Marcus is not…

When Decider inquired about this, creator Aaron Guzikowski teased some intriguing new developments for season three, which include the following:

“There’s not much I can say about that particular moment without giving too much away. I would say that you have to treat it as if it were a single moment or an image. See where it takes you without any expectations. Sort of like going into a cave and finding out that you can only take what you bring with you. I will say that Travis [Fimmel] will almost certainly return for a third season of the show. So that’s something I can say.”

Raised by Wolves Season 3 Plot

Things do not appear to be looking good for Mother, or for any of her children for that matter. Towards the end of season two, Mother has been captured by Grandmother and is being held captive in a simulation similar to a prison. Plans to devolve the children into something less than human endangers the lives of the majority of our main cast.

It’s been said that you can’t keep a good Necromancer down, so expect to see Mother navigate her way out of Grandmother’s captivity by the end of Season 3.

It appears that Marcus will return as a Christ-like figure who has been possessed by the Entity, which is consistent with what we discussed above in the cast section. Is this a sign that Marcus himself will return, or is he, like Sue, still missing?

Season three will provide the answers to all of these questions and more… if and when HBO Max decides to renew the show.

Immediately following the broadcast of the season two finale, Decider inquired of the show’s creator, Aaron Guzikowski, for an update on the show’s future, to which he responded, “It hasn’t been officially greenlit yet, so we’ll have to wait and see hopefully.” And, yes, just take things one day at a time.”

“I’m just going to keep working on this thing forever,” Aaron continued. “So that’s been my life for many years and will continue to be my life in the future.” Basically, my plan is to continue telling this story until I am stopped by another person.

As a result, every morning when I get out of bed, I just keep putting the pieces together, trying to decode things, and trying to figure it out. Hopefully, we’ll have the opportunity to complete the entire project. We may not get there, but I will find a way to get it out there in some other way.”
