Professor T’s first season ended in August, and fans were hoping that ITV will resume the adventures of the titular criminologist.
The show, a remake of a Belgian serial, was a hit, so a second season is a given, right? Well, we have some good news: it will be returning for a new series.
Ben Miller (Death in Paradise) plays a Cambridge lecturer and part-time investigator in the episode. The professor’s exploits began when former student Lisa Donckers convinced him to help the cops (Emma Naomi).
Miller is returning in the lead role, and the second season is likely to go more into his tough childhood, which was hinted at in season one.
We’re also interested in seeing more of Lisa and Dan Winters’ burgeoning romance, which she rejected in episode five.

The Professor will continue to assist the police in solving strange cases, rekindling his previous friendship with Juliet Aubrey’s Chief Inspector Christina Brand.

Professor T Season 2 Cast
Ben Miller, who together with Alexander Armstrong is one half of the well-known comedic duo Armstrong and Miller, is set to reprise his role as the professor and part-time investigator in the upcoming season.
Actress Frances de la Tour, who plays his mother Adelaide in the series, will once again appear alongside him in the new episode.
She has been in quite a few movies and television shows, some of the most notable of which being Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Rising Damp, Into the Woods, and Eli.
Emma Naomi, who plays Detective Lisa Donckers, and Barney White, who plays Dan Winters, are two of the other cast members who will be returning for series two.
