Jon Bernthal Returns As Daredevil In The MCU!

Will the Punisher soon be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Netflix star Jon Bernthal talks about his return as an antihero who first appeared on “Daredevil.”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently breaking new ground. With the opening of the multiverse in the Disney+ series “Loki”, various Marvel heroes can come together whose paths did not previously cross with that of the Avengers. So shall Charlie Cox soon return as Daredevil? But Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is also under discussion.

Daredevil Is Making A Return

The rumors of the return of the antihero from the Netflix series “The Punisher” have been making the rounds for some time. After all, not only is Charlie Cox returning in his Netflix role, Vincent D’Onofrio is also said to return as Wilson Fisk. So the chances are good, but what does Bernthal have to say about his return?

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bernthal was asked if he could imagine the dark and bloodier tone of “The Punisher” in the MCU. He had a few things to say about that.

“There is nothing more important to me in the world than my wife and my children and only if you understand this kind of love and what it really means to give your life freely for someone,” explains Bernthal, only then would you understand how it feels like forcibly losing a family.

“Well, that said, that’s where the character has to be. He needs a certain level of darkness. I think if you change something there, you wouldn’t do justice to the character,” said Bernthal. “It doesn’t work about whether you implement the character, it’s about doing it correctly, and that’s the only thing I’m interested in “.

The Rumor Mill Is Filled With Daredevil

Small allusions within the series to the events in the films confirm the connection, but the MCU films themselves have so far completely ignored the Netflix series. This can have several reasons. On the one hand, the Netflix series told of little heroic adventures in New York that the Avengers would hardly bother with while they were once again saving the earth or the entire universe.

The rumor mill is simmering that Marvel Studios is working to produce a Disney + series about the Punisher. There should even already be scripts and drafts. But the negotiations with Jon Bernthal should continue so that both can come to a common denominator.

Before we see Bernthal again as a punisher, Charlie Cox will likely appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Moreover, you can currently find new episodes of ” Hawkeye ” on Disney+ every streaming service Wednesday.

Lisa has been covering Netflix since 2014, and has spent up to 10 years covering the comings and goings of the Streaming library. Currently resides in the United Kingdom. Outer Banks, Ozark, Black, and On My Block, and Stranger Things are among my favourite Netflix series.
