Jackass Cast And Character Guide: Where Are They Now?

Over 20 years have passed since the group of fearless pals first gathered on MTV for the original Jackass TV show.

The cast, which included Knoxville, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Steve-O, Ryan Dunn, Ehren McGhehey, Preston Lacy, and Jason Acua, performed extreme stunts and vicious pranks on each other over three seasons.

Since the show ended in 2002, there have been a number of TV specials and movies in which the majority of the original cast has reunited to put each other to the test.

Where are the original Jackass cast now?

Johnny Knoxville

Johnny Knoxville, 50, has been the show’s leader since its inception and is credited as one of its creators, along with director Jeff Tremaine and producer Spike Jonze.

He certainly racked up quite the medical bill during his time with the Jackass crew, with the entire crew racking up $24,263,000 (£17.5m) in medical expenses.

Aside from inflicting pain on himself and others, Knoxville is a prolific actor, having appeared in a number of films and TV shows over the last 20 years.

His credits include Men In Black II, in which he co-starred with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, the comedy Dukes of Hazzard, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2014, and the Jackass spin-off Bad Grandpa in 2013.He has also appeared on WWE Smackdown and Raw on a regular basis, most recently as the first entrant in 2022’s Men’s Royal Rumble, and will once again lead the gang’s antics in Jackass Forever.

Knoxville married his longtime girlfriend Naomi Nelson in 2010, and the couple has two children: Rocko, 12, and Arlo, 10.

Madison, 26, is his daughter from his previous marriage to clothing designer Melanie Lynn Cates.

Steve-O

Steve-O, real name Stephen Glover, will also appear in the new film.

Often referred to as Knoxville’s wingman, Steve-O was also the star of the Jackass spin-off series Wildboyz (which aired from 2003 to 2006) and Dr. Steve-O (which aired in 2007).

He has also appeared on Dancing With The Stars and the first series of Love Island in 2006, but left abruptly due to a lack of beer and chocolate.

Steve-career O’s was marked by alcohol and drug addiction throughout his time on the series and the first two Jackass films. He quit smoking for the first time in 2006, but relapsed in 2008.

Steve-O, 47, has been sober for over ten years and has spoken about his addiction struggles in stand-up comedy, documentaries, memories, and guest show appearances.

Steve-O: Demise And Rise, a documentary about his struggles with addiction, aired on MTV in 2009.

Bam Magera

Bam Magera, a founding member of Jackass, went on to star in his own spin-off shows, Viva La Bam and Bam’s Unholy Union, as well as writing and directing the films Haggard and Minghads.

Concerns had been raised about Bam’s inclusion in Paramount Studios’ new Jackass film due to his history with substance abuse.

While some scenes starring Bam will reportedly remain in the new film, he was fired from the project for failing to follow the terms of his contract.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bam, 42, has since filed a legal claim against the Jackass crew and friend Johnny Knoxville after being fired from the film for allegedly continuing to take drugs during filming, which he denies.

Ryan Dunn

Ryan Dunn was cast in the show alongside childhood friend Bam after the two performed stunts in a group called Camp Kill Yourself (CKY).

He went on to star in all three previous Jackass films and host the 2005 show Homewrecker.

Dunn tragically died in a drunk-driving accident in 2011 after crashing his Porsche into a tree at 130 mph.

Ryan, 34, and his friend, Jackass production assistant Zachary Hartwell, 29, were tragically killed in the vehicle fire.

Chris Pontius

Chris Pontius joined Steve-O in the cast of the spin-off series Wildboyz and has appeared in all of the Jackass films, frequently seen lying about his manhood for the sake of a joke.

He also appeared in Johnny Knoxville’s film Action Point and made a brief appearance in the Netflix comedy Game Over, Man.

Chris, 47, recently shared a painful memory on a Reddit AMA, saying, ‘On Wildboyz, this gaucho pulled me from the horse and my ankle was stuck in the stirrup, giving me a small fracture all because this little man was jealous of my relationship with the steed!’

Jason Acuña

Outside of his work with the Jackass team, Jason Acua, also known as ‘Wee Man,’ is a professional skateboarder.

Acua, 48, has also appeared on the shows Punk’d and Wildboyz. During this year’s Royal Rumble, he was slammed onto a table by WWE legend Brock Lesnar.
