Is ‘Yellowstone’ Ending? Here Is Everything You Need To Know!

Yellowstone might already be on its way out. Yellowstone is the most popular cable show, but it may end after the fifth season. Is Yellowstone no longer going to happen? Here’s what’s going on right now:

Deadline says that Yellowstone showrunner Taylor Sheridan, Paramount Global, and Paramount Network are “moving to end” the show in its “current form.” The family drama is in the middle of its fifth season, and all-new episodes will start airing in the summer of 2023. Hollywood Life has tried to get a comment from Paramount Network.

Reports say that the show might be canceled because Kevin Costner, who plays John Dutton, the patriarch of the Dutton family, and the producers “can’t agree on when to shoot,” Sources told the outlet that the Oscar winner “only wanted to shoot for 50 days for the first part of the current season,” which is 15 days less than the 65 days he initially set for himself.

Kevin reportedly “only wanted to shoot for a week” regarding the second half of Season 5.

The outlet says that the issue has become “frustrating” for Taylor and is “causing morale problems” among the rest of the cast. It is noted that Paramount Network turned down Kevin’s latest offer and “decided to move on” to another show.

That other show would continue the story of the Dutton family, and Matthew McConaughey, who is “currently in negotiations,” might be in it. Deadline said it was “unclear” if any of the Yellowstone cast, which includes Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, and Cole Hauser, would move to the new series.

According to reports, the show grew out of “continued disagreements over the decreasing amount of time Costner is willing to spend shooting” The Flagship Series.

A spokesperson for Paramount Network told Deadline, “We don’t have any news to report.” Kevin Costner is an integral part of Yellowstone, and we hope that will stay true for a long time. Because Taylor Sheridan has a brilliant mind, we are constantly working on expanding this fantastic world he has made.

Matthew McConaughey is a great actor we’d love to work with.

Two well-reviewed prequels, 1883 and 1923, have already been added to the Yellowstone universe. 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, which will star David Oyelowo and Dennis Quaid, is the latest spinoff. After a tremendous first season, 1923 was picked up for a second season.
