Fred Warner, the San Francisco 49ers’ top linebacker, is preparing for not just the most important game of his career, but also the most significant upheaval in his personal life. His wife, Sydney Warner, is expecting their first child and plans to fly to Las Vegas to cheer him on in the Super Bowl.
Is Fred Warner Wife Pregnant?
Fred Warner has a very exciting month ahead. Not only is he scheduled to compete in Super Bowl LVIII with his club, the San Francisco 49ers, against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas on Sunday, but he is also doing so only weeks before becoming a father for the first time.
Sydney Warner (née Highwater), the linebacker’s wife, will be 35 weeks pregnant during Sunday’s game. Sydney tells people about the exciting times ahead for the growing Warner family.
The 28-year-old expectant mother reveals she was “initially scared” but has had an “incredible” pregnancy thus far.
“I’ve been blessed with an amazing pregnancy. I have a whole different outlook on it from the start,” she shares. “My first and second trimesters were a breeze. I was literally in pregnancy bliss. This last trimester is a little tougher, but I’m getting through. I’m pleasantly surprised with my experience.“
Sydney has been following the team throughout the season, stating that the latest games have been “chaotic.”
“I just take things a little slower,” she says. “I don’t jump as high; try not to scream as loud. I don’t want to do anything too crazy. I’ve learned to pace myself. And I love seeing all the fans who are excited to talk to me about baby Warner. It’s really sweet.“
Sydney is delighted to travel to Vegas, telling people that she has been cleared to fly there on the hour-long flight from the Bay Area. When the club appeared to be on its way to the playoffs, the expectant mother brought up the matter with her doctor.
“I was like, ‘I’m not gonna speak anything into existence, but let’s say we got there,'” she shares. “I’m very superstitious. I asked, ‘Would you clear me to fly?’ And she said yes.”Everything’s going well so far, so as long as nothing changes in a week, we’re all good.
According to her doctor’s recommendation, Sydney will “take it as easy as I can with my husband playing in the Super Bowl.”We were urged to stay hydrated and avoid walking too much on the day of. So I’m just going to make sure I get some vitamin C packets and avoid jumping around too much.”
Sydney is also looking forward to trying some of the game’s amazing food options. “My whole pregnancy, I’ve been craving nachos and chips. So if there’s a nacho in the vicinity, I’m having it,” she laughs. “I like some Diet Coke or Pepsi, with a chip. It’s definitely what this pregnant woman will be enjoying.“
Enjoying the final weeks of pregnancy and preparing for a baby, as well as the Super Bowl, has presented obstacles, but the Warners say, “It’s been like a fairy tale.
“It’s like a movie. You can’t write this stuff. And we’ll be able to have these memories forever, will be able to tell our son and show him pictures like of his mother pregnant with him and his dad, so excited to meet him, literally at the Super Bowl.”
“And then, four weeks later, we’ll welcome him into the world. It’s just wonderful. I never anticipated we’d be where we are now, but we are extremely fortunate and grateful. I believe all of the stars are aligning, and we are excited.“
Following the big game, the couple will focus on getting their house ready for their son’s birth. “Right now, my house looks like a building site. There are boxes and furniture everywhere. It’s a true disaster,” she chuckles, noting that there are also “camera teams in here every day for press for Fred.”
“Things are crazy. I have diapers, shoes, and other items everywhere. The nursery is not even close to being completed. So things are chaotic around here, but I have six weeks left. I’m telling myself that this week is solely committed to all we need to do for the Super Bowl. And then, when we get home from the Super Bowl, it’s crunch time. It’s baby time. We need to fully alter gears to become parents.”
The new parents have chosen a name for their child, though they are not yet ready to share it. We chose our name during my first trimester. We just knew this was the name, and we’d had it picked out for a long.
Sydney is excited to enjoy her final moments of pregnancy and welcome her baby son with her spouse by her side.
“I’m looking forward to that unique one-on-one time with Fred to share those final four precious weeks of waiting for when he wants to emerge on Earth. So we’re just cherishing that time because it won’t happen again. We’ll never be first-time parents again. It’s thrilling and a wonderful moment. We’re quite excited to take advantage of these peaceful moments once all of the frenzy is past.“
Sydney is already looking forward to next season when she will be cheering on her husband with their baby boy in tow. There are so many children, mothers, and newborns in the NFL, and I’ve never had the opportunity to be a part of that group. And now that I’m here, it’s an amazing place to be.
Of course, having these experiences on your own is wonderful, but having them as an expectant mother or with children is much more meaningful. I’m thrilled to be a member of the NFL mom crew.
