The problem will be fixed, and a new version will be available on streaming platforms.
HBO will correct the visual effects error discovered by eagle-eyed fans in the third episode of House of the Dragon and update the streaming platforms.
Following last Sunday’s House of the Dragon episode, titled “Second of His Name,” viewers spotted the VFX blunder during a scene starring King Viserys, as played by Paddy Considine, in which he hands a rolled-up letter over to a soldier. HBO is “planning to update the error on its streaming platforms,” according to Variety.
Two of the king’s fingers are totally green, as they were most likely wrapped in green fabric for post-production editing. The fingers might have been removed entirely to depict the evolution of Viserys’ strange ailment, assuming that the maggot treatment he had in Episode 2 was ineffective in slowing “the advance of the rot.”

Some fans compared this VFX blunder to the notorious Game of Thrones moment from the fourth episode of the last season, in which viewers noticed a stray throwaway coffee cup left on a table in one of the scenes.
After the error went viral on social media, HBO issued an appropriately amusing response and digitally removed the cup from the scene.
The green-fingered problem in House of the Dragon is likely to be fixed before the fourth episode airs on September 11.
The debut episode of House of the Dragon, which is now available on YouTube, drew nearly 10 million people across HBO and HBO Max, making it the most watched new show in HBO history. HBO committed to delivering more stories from the great saga of House Targaryen by renewing the Game of Thrones prequel for a second season less than a week after its premiere.
