Season 7B of Fear the Walking Dead flew by. The second half of this season featured many character-focused episodes, which quickly concluded the battle for the Tower and moved on. What can we expect from the final two episodes? Viewers will find out soon enough.

The episode “Divine Providence” from last week left viewers with mixed feelings. On the one hand, it paid homage to the season one character, Strand, Alicia, and Daniel, but the Wes as villain plotline was weak.

Alicia and her army arrive at Strand’s front door, and he invites them in for a drink. Daniel follows, believing Ofelia is a prisoner inside the Tower. During their conversation, Wes expresses his displeasure with the situation and easily assumes command of the Tower and the Rangers, who have been extremely loyal to Strand up to this point. Daniel, remembering that Ofelia is no longer alive, decides to be by Charlie’s side when she dies, something he was unable to do for his daughter.

The season 7B finale, “Gone,” will air on AMC on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the first episode of Talking Dead since the season 7 premiere in April.

This is the sixteenth episode of Season 7, directed by Sharat Raju and written by showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg. Chambliss and Goldberg have been showrunners since season 4 and have written numerous episodes of the show during that time. Raju has previously directed episodes of The Walking Dead and World Beyond, and this is his fourth Fear the Walking Dead episode.
