Deadpool 3’s Plot Might Have Already Been Revealed In 2021

Although it has been confirmed that Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool in the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe starring Deadpool, Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine.
In 2021, the story of Deadpool 3 may have already been made public. Following the completion of Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, it was announced that Deadpool would be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. It was assumed that he would be the only character from Fox’s X-Men film series to make his way to the growing MCU. But now, Hugh Jackman has confirmed that he will be returning to the MCU’s upcoming Deadpool 3 in his X-Men role of Logan, also known as Wolverine, despite appearing to have retired the character in 2017’s Logan.

Following the odd omission of Deadpool 3 from the MCU Phase 5 and 6 slates at the D23 Expo in September and San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, Reynolds made a brief video to confirm that the movie is indeed in production. The brief clip shocked viewers by revealing that Jackman, who has played the longest-running Marvel superhero in film, would be returning alongside Reynolds in the upcoming project. The return of Reynolds and Jackman as their recognizable characters has been eagerly anticipated by fans, who have been speculating about the direction that Deadpool 3 will take under the direction of Marvel Studios.

Is Deadpool 3’s Wolverine Road Trip Story A Good Idea?

For years, Reynolds and Jackman’s friendly banter has been a source of pure entertainment, with jokes made at each other’s expense throughout various projects, most notably previous Deadpool films. The fact that the pair will be sharing the screen in full force (rather than with their mouths sewn shut as in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) means that whatever storyline Deadpool 3 follows will be jam-packed with comedy and brilliant buddy-cop moments. Even if the film was just a 2-hour-long road trip with the duo, fans would surely flock to theatres just to hear the conversations that would take place.

Deadpool 3 will be released on September 6, 2024, becoming the first project in the MCU’s Phase 6. As the final phase of the Multiverse Saga, the film will almost certainly include some multiverse shenanigans, possibly even relating to potential damage caused by Deadpool’s time-traveling antics in the various post-credits scenes of Deadpool 2. Logan and Wade could be taking the concept of a road trip to its logical conclusion, traveling from one reality to another within the multiverse before arriving in the MCU’s 616-universe.

There’s a lot of anticipation for Deadpool’s MCU debut, especially since Shawn Levy is directing after previously working with Reynolds on Free Guy, and the series has been allowed to keep its R-rating following the transition. Reynolds’ enthusiasm for Deadpool is palpable every time the character appears on screen, and his close friendship with Jackman makes the prospect of the two appearing together even more appealing. Wade Wilson and Logan will be able to play together in a completely new sandbox in Deadpool 3.

Deadpool Is Currently A Part Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe?

It is true that Deadpool will make his MCU debut in Deadpool 3.

Deadpool was initially introduced as a member of the stand-alone X-Men films, but recent remarks from Marvel CEO Kevin Feige indicate that he will join the MCU in his third feature.
Recasting the part of Deadpool would be asking for trouble because the character is still quite popular, whereas the other X-Men characters are anticipated to undergo a total reset in the wake of Dark Phoenix’s failure.

Additionally, because the character enjoys meta-humor so much, it would be simple for him to brush off any continuity mistakes with an amusing quip directed directly at the camera.

Deadpool 3 Release Date

The release day for Deadpool 3 is set for September 6, 2024.

In a video posted in September 2022, the movie’s star, Ryan Reynolds, announced the release date.

Due to the fact that the movie series started under 20th Century Fox but was later purchased when Disney acquired that company, speculation regarding the release date of Deadpool’s MCU installment has been rampant in recent years.
