Now that all 10 episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are available to stream on Netflix, anime fans and fans of the computer game Cyberpunk 2077 are in for a treat. After serving as a mercenary outlaw for a group known as “edge runners,” the protagonist of this novel finds himself entangled in the criminal underworld of Night City.

After watching all 10 episodes, you may wonder if additional episodes are in the pipeline. Netflix has not yet announced whether extra episodes will be produced. The series appears to be a solo companion to the video game, but anything might happen.

Below, we’ll discuss what we know about the show’s potential future and if Netflix is likely to renew it.

Will There Be A Second Season Of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners On Netflix?

There is no confirmation of a second season, but the likelihood is that this will be a one-and-done series. This is because the show has always been promoted as a “standalone story.”

However, the phrase may relate to the fact that the tale is distinct from Cyberpunk 2077 and not necessarily that there will only be ten episodes. The video game’s developer, CD Projekt Red, has revealed the first official DLC expansion (Phantom Liberty) and appears to have many more planned for the future. This indicates the possibility of additional seasons.

What Is The Story Of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?

The first two episodes set the scene and introduce us to David, a street kid. His mom Gloria works too much, and she dies in a car accident because of it. David decides to get implants to improve his body because he is sad and has been hurt by bullies. But those implants belong to a crazy man named James Norris, and there are worries that David might become crazy like him.

But before any of this happens, David meets Lucy and her group of friends. They want David to get the implant, but he makes a deal with them and agrees to work one gig at a time to pay them back. With Maine keeping an eye on the group, the show becomes more episodic as David learns the ropes, gets trained by Lucy and gets to know the other members of the group while taking out targets.

Then, everything comes together nicely during one last mission, which is spread out over two big, action-packed episodes to end the show on a high note.
