Britannia is a television program that is based on a historical fantasy drama. Jez Butterworth and Tom Butterworth developed it.

The program stars Kelly Reilly, David Morrissey, Zo Wanamaker, Mackenzie Crook, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, and Eleanor Worthington Cox and was the first co-production between Sky and Amazon Prime Video.

It premiered on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom on January 18, 2018, and on Amazon Prime Video in the United States on January 26, 2018.

The first season will premiere on Epix on August 2, 2020. Too far, three series have featured pop songs as theme music: Donovan’s “Hurdy Gurdy Man” (series 1), his “Season of the Witch” (series 2), and T-“Children Rex’s of the Revolution.”

Release Date for Britannia Season 4

The Sky Go Channel is yet to clarify what they will do with the television series “Britannia.” However, according to prior schedules, the likely release date of Britannia’s 4th season is Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

The storyline of Britannia Season 4

Season three of Britannia concluded on a cliffhanger, with Cait in Rome after being deceived by her mentor – and now presumably Aulus’ wife.

With so many discoveries in the closing few minutes, the program will have a lot of explaining to do next season, maybe in the largest shake-up since the show’s inception.

It appears that Britannia will not be featured much next season, with much of the action taking place in Rome — a historically appropriate choice, as Aulus did actually return home after only a few years of ruling Britain.

We won’t know any definite plot elements for season four until filming begins, but rumors say Cait will bring down Rome by spreading Christianity, as well as ultimately uncover the Spear and free Lokka from her body.

Season 4 Cast of Britannia

Of course, David Morrissey is a sure bet to return as one of the show’s big-name actors, with his legendary character Aulus primed for a huge season now that he has returned to Rome.

Rising star Eleanor Worthington-Cox is also scheduled to return as Cait, the Chosen One who has suddenly migrated to Rome with Aulus.

Mackenzie Crook will return as druid Veran and in a behind-the-scenes position after writing and directing two episodes in season three.

Annabel Scholey (Being Human) is expected to return as Amena, Nikolaj Lie Kaas (Angels & Demons) as Divis, Julian Rhind-Tutt (The Witcher) as Phelan, and Zo Wanamaker (My Family) as Queen Antedia.
