If Netflix binge-watching is your thing, you’ve undoubtedly heard of Bridgerton. This Regency-era period drama has been one of the most-watched Netflix series for all the right reasons, with love, romance, drama, and just the right amount of spice.
Bridgerton is a historical-romance streaming television series created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shondaland based on Julia Quinn’s novel collection. The plot revolves around the Bridgerton family’s eight close-knit siblings who are looking for love and happiness in a high school society in London.

Bridgerton season 3 release date
Netflix has not yet said when Season 3 will be out. The previous seasons don’t give us much to go on, other than the fact that they came out two years apart. Season 1 came out on December 25, 2020, and Season 2 started airing on March 25, 2022. But Season 3 is already being made, which gives us hope that it will come out at the End of 2023.
Bridgerton Season 3 Cast
Bridgerton has a few key players who make the show what it is. The first is actress Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, aka clandestine gossip writer Lady Whistledown. Dame Julie Andrews will almost certainly lend her voice to Whistledown’s musings once more.
Then there’s Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), the mother, and her eight children: Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Benedict (Luke Thompson), Colin (Luke Newton), Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Eloise (Claudia Jessie), Francesca, Gregory (Will Tilston), and Hyacinth (Florence Hunt).
Anatomy Of A Scandal star Hannah Dodd replaces Ruby Stokes as Francesca Bridgerton in season three. Ruby decided to leave in order to devote her time to another Netflix project, Lockwood & Co.
Each book in Julia Quinn’s novel series, upon which the show is based, focuses on a different sibling. Daphne has been relegated to the sidelines since season one, and she only appears on occasion. Her husband, the Duke of Hastings, has withdrawn from the series.
So we don’t know if Phoebe will return for season three. With this in mind, it was initially unclear what the future held for Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony, the central Bridgerton character from Season 2.

How Did ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 Ending?
If you haven’t seen Season 2 yet (shout out to everyone who finished it in one day), the finale saw Anthony and Kate as happy, PDA-heavy newlyweds after they finally get together at the Featherington Ball. BFFs Eloise and Penelope are at odds after Eloise finally discovers Lady Whistledown’s secret, but in the end, Penelope decides that she will be writing for a long time. The intellectual also breaks up with his apprentice Theo due to a fear Penelope instills in her.
Among the other plotlines, Benedict drops out of art school after learning that Anthony’s large donation got him in. Colin has a brief heroic moment when he exposes Lord Featherington’s deception, but then he breaks Penelope’s heart when she overhears him telling his friends that he’d never court her. Kate’s sister Edwina and mother Mary will also be in London, with Queen Charlotte suggesting that Edwina meet her nephew Prince Friedrich (Freddie Stroma), who wooed Daphne in season 1.
Bridgerton season 3 plot
Bridgerton season 3 will not be based on Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer from a Gentleman, according to Netflix.
Instead, the fourth book in the popular Regency romance series, Romancing Mr Bridgerton, will focus on Colin and Penelope’s love story.
However, one storyline from Romancing Mr Bridgerton will not be revisited in the upcoming season.
Penelope loses weight and gets a makeover in the 2002 novel, but when asked about the plotline, showrunner Chris Van Dusen said, “We think Penelope is beautiful, and I don’t think it’s really a part of her story.”
“Her being a wallflower in our show, I think, is more about her level of confidence than it is about her outward appearance,” he added.
Coughlan recently told Netflix Tudum about what fans can expect in season 3: “I feel like if you see Penelope fawning over this boy for another season, you’ll be like, ‘Get it together!'” ‘Come on, get over it, and move on.’ Jess has talked to Luke and me throughout the season, and I believe people will be obsessed. “I believe book lovers will be pleased.”
Furthermore, the following season is likely to explore the ramifications of Eloise discovering Penelope is Lady Whistledown in season 2, as well as whether the Featheringtons recover their financial position after cousin Jack was revealed to be a fraudster.
Furthermore, as previously stated, Anthony and Kate will return for the third installment, with Simone Ashley promising a more “heart strong” Kate, but what exactly will transpire between the two remains to be seen.
