Animal Kingdom season 6 will be the last for the Cody brothers as the TNT series comes to an end. TNT announced that season 6 would be the final season in January 2021, well ahead of the season 5 premiere that summer; it is one of several shows that will end in 2022. Fans have had plenty of time to prepare for the thrilling conclusion, but if the show has taught us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected.

Here’s everything you need to know about the sixth season of Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom season 6 release date

Season 6 of Animal Kingdom premieres on TNT on June 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. New episodes will be available on the TNT app the following day. “1992” is the title of the season premiere episode.

If you need to catch up on previous seasons before the new season begins, you can do so on the TNT app as well as on Prime Video.

What Will Animal Kingdom Season 6 Be About?

Kingdom of the nimal Season 5 ended with the police (finally) discovering the body of Catherine Blackwell (Daniella Alonso), the wife of the now-deceased Baz (Smurf’s adopted son). Pope (Shawn Hatosy) murdered Cath in Season 1 on orders from Smurf, who suspected Cath of cooperating with the feds. Pope’s guilt over killing Cath has played a significant role in his story arc. However, now that both Baz and Smurf are gone, no one else is aware of the murder. As a result, the discovery is bound to spark new drama and danger. Given that the Codys are Oceanside’s most wanted criminal family, the cops will almost certainly try to use Cath’s murder as a piece of the puzzle to bring them all down.

There’s also the question of naming a ruler for the “kingdom.” J and Deran have struggled with co-leading the family and their criminal escapades since Smurf’s death, as Craig relapsed into drug addiction while struggling to provide for Renn (Christina Ochoa) and their infant son. Pam (Charlayne Woodard), Smurf’s old friend, also appeared in Season 5 with a legal claim to Smurf’s estate, much to the boys’ chagrin. With that storyline feeling a little underwhelming, it’s possible Pam and her family will return in Season 6, either in the present timeline or in flashback.
