All American Season 4 Episode 15 Recap

This episode hit home because it addressed the growing number of college athletes who benefit from licensing deals to use their name, image, or likeness.

On All American Season 4 Episode 15, Spencer, Jordan, and even Olivia grappled with the issue.

Spencer, on the other hand, hasn’t come to terms with his diminished status as a Division I college football athlete. And until he does, he’s in for a world of hurt.

Spencer must also learn not to dwell on any one play for too long, as there will be more plays later in the game and in the future.

On All American Season 4 Episode 14, he made a wise decision by volunteering to play on special teams for Coach Garrett.

Spencer’s first goal was accomplished thanks to an intense week of practice: he was able to return to the field as the gunner on special teams.

That wasn’t enough for Spencer, who was still going to study the offensive playbook in the hopes of returning to the position of wide receiver.

Worse, the upperclassmen around him had gotten NIL deals, and Spencer wanted a piece of the action as well.

Fortunately, Davita was still present to provide him with a much-needed dose of reality. Freshman special-teams players lacked the firepower to land a lucrative NIL contract. He needed to be memorable in some way.

Olivia’s decision that NILs were an unequal setup for college players didn’t help matters. She decided that her pessimistic attitude toward NILs would be her groundbreaking article.

Her editor was correct in correcting her. Olivia had nothing new to say on the subject, which had been done to death.

Olivia was tone-deaf when she told Spencer that most players only received a few hundred dollars from their NIL contracts. Coming from Beverly Hills, she can’t seem to know why money was such a big deal to someone from Crenshaw, such as Spencer.

Spencer simply made the error of suggesting that Olivia was a spoiled rich girl who can not get away from where he was going. True, but it wasn’t the wisest thing he could have said to his girlfriend.

Fortunately, she had the foresight to consult Billy for some perspective. He told her that illegal money had always been a part of college football, allowing players to pay for a meal out or an emergency flight off the books.

Billy also encouraged Olivia to trust her instincts and look for a different angle on her NIL story.

Jordan, who was too far down the depth chart to be concerned about ever getting a NIL deal, benefited indirectly from his friendships with the upperclassmen, as starting quarterback Wade invited him to join him on a charter flight to Las Vegas.

Because of his devotion to Wade, he lied to Coach Garrett when Wade missed practise to sign his NIL contract.

Jordan escaped punishment after Coach Garrett saw pics of Wade signing his contract. Instead, after Garett benched Wade, he was promoted to backup quarterback for the next game.

The big game provided Spencer and Jordan with the big opportunities they had hoped for. And they both took advantage of their chances… eventually. They only had to get past their previous blunders.

Spencer botched a tackle, allowing the opposing team to return a kick for a touchdown. Jordan tried to give him a pep talk, and yet Spencer sulked on the sidelines, certain that he would never recover from his mistake.

Until he did, chasing down a runner on a kick return, stripping the ball, and recovering it to put his team one last chance to win.

Jordan was surprisingly in for the final offensive series after the backup quarterback was knocked out by injury. While Jordan’s first series was memorable, he got the job done, scoring the game-winning touchdown just before being smashed to the ground.

Jordan never got to go to Vegas because Wade kicked him off the charter due to his on-field success. Jordan will learn who his true friends are as a result of this.

It was finally Jaymee’s turn to meet Asher’s friends who didn’t happen to live at the beach house with him. Also, her description of them all being caught in the middle of a vortex was spot on.

Asher had the misfortune of running into two of his ex-girlfriends at the game watch party, so Jaymee ran into them. She was unconcerned about why he hadn’t previously referred to Olivia and Layla as such. Everyone, after all, has a past.

It’s fantastic that Coop has decided to keep an eye on resident Miss Rita. However, she acted too quickly, assuming Rita’s granddaughter Skye had stolen the earrings.

Yes, Skye did borrow them, but she did so for a good reason: she could have them reset in a necklace so Rita could wear them more easily in the future.

And didn’t Patience react once Coop was stalking and harassing Skye and Jaymee mentioned how attractive Skye was? There did appear to be a spark between Coop and Skye, so there may be something there.

Jaymee also indirectly addressed a point of contention between Patience and Layla, as Patience chose “Welcome to the Vortex” as the title of her album.
