2013 – 2016 PartyNextDoor
Kehlani was first linked to Canadian rapper PartyNextDoor in 2013, but they chose to keep their relationship private. PartyNextDoor reportedly refused to answer any questions about his relationship in a 2015 interview with The Fader. Nonetheless, he seemed to address their romance in songs like “Girl From Oakland” and “Muse,” both of which were released in 2014 and featured a girl from Kehlani’s California hometown. But it was the sexy, reflective 2015 track “Kehlani’s Freestyle” — later renamed “THINGS & SUCH” — that seemed to be the most obviously about them.

According to her, what followed was a whirlwind relationship with multiple breakups.
