I’m’straight,’ but I was once ‘in love with a woman,’ says Julie Bowen.

Julie Bowen disclosed that she once fell in love with a female, despite identifying as heterosexual.

“I’m not gay. I’ve always been heterosexual. In the most recent episode of her podcast “Quitters,” the “Modern Family” actress disclosed, “I was in love with a woman, but she didn’t love me back.”

Bowen, 52, continued, “She liked women but didn’t like me in that way.” It never really gained traction, so I never had to challenge the conception of my sexuality.

Becca Tilley, a former “Bachelor” contestant who appeared on two seasons of the ABC program, stated that coming out was a “stressful” experience for her. This prompted the actress to reveal her sexual orientation.

The 34-year-old reality TV star, who is presently dating Hayley Kiyoko, told Bowen, “I’m just attracted to people.”

“I hope that one day individuals will not have to come out, as it causes great stress and added weight. “Because life is already so difficult, falling in love should be a beautiful, natural occurrence nobody needs to explain,” she added.

Bowen, who portrayed Claire Dunphy on “Modern Family,” observed that when people ask others to “identify themselves,” they are frequently inquiring about their sexual orientation and “bedroom” activities.

She explained, “What you do with your body should not be the first thing we know or care about a person; it is your business.” As you stated, I hope people are not always required to step out.

After more than 13 years of marriage, Bowen filed for divorce from Scott Phillips in February 2018.

The former couple shares three boys: Oliver, 15, and twins John and Gustav, both 13.

Bowen has concealed her dating life since her separation. Nevertheless, she once quipped that she would “come out of [dating] retirement for Harry Styles.”
