Tommy Dorfman Admits She Is A Transwoman

Tommy Dorfman was a promising new actor in 2016. He had just graduated from the drama program at Fordham University. Not long after she graduated from college, the young woman in her twenties got the lead role in Netflix’s original teen drama 13 Reasons Why. Source says that from 2017 to 2020, Dorfman played Ryan Shaver. Dorfman says that even though she looked like a man in this situation, other trans women could tell she was a woman.

In an interview with Laura Brown of InStyle, Dorfman said, ” is all I’ve ever known on the inside, even though I’ve walked around in a man’s body. Trans women would always come up to me and say, “Hey, girl, what’s up?” because it’s such a common thing.

When Brown heard what Dorfman said, he said, “Huh. How about a pheromone? “Maybe,” said Dorfman in answer. I’ve done it to other people, and you can kind of tell when other women are like that. Transgender people just seem magical in the end. Dorfman finally found the knowledge and courage to accept and love her true self after talking to more experienced trans women.

Dorfman Explained Her Truth On Instagram

Dorfman said that she had been living her truth on Instagram for a while by posting about how her style and appearance were always changing, but that she was finally ready to face medically transitioning as a way to reclaim her story. She said, “I’ve been living in this other kind of coming out where I don’t feel safe enough to talk about it, so I just do it.”

On the other hand, I can see why change can be appealing. I don’t see any reason why that shouldn’t be shown to everyone. I decided instead to keep an Instagram diary, which shows a body in a less rigid setting. On the contrary, being in the public eye has taught me that if I don’t explain myself, I risk losing the ability to control my own story.
