Tom Verlaine:  Tom Verlaine was a singer, guitarist, and songwriter from the United States. He started playing the piano when he was young, but after hearing a Stan Getz record in middle school, he switched to the saxophone.

Verlaine didn’t like how the guitar was used in jazz or rock music at first, but after hearing the Rolling Stones’ “19th Nervous Breakdown” when he was a teenager, he decided to learn how to play.  From that point on, he spent a long time trying different things to improve his unique style.

Verlaine later got ideas from jazz musician Miles Davis’s electric-era works, especially the Japanese LPs Agharta (1975) and Dark Magus (1977), which he was able to import. Verlaine was also interested in writing and poetry from a young age.

Verlaine soon put out a solo album called “Verlaine,” which was the start of a successful solo career in the 1980s. He lived in England for a short time because his work was well received there and in Europe as a whole. In the 1990s, he worked with artists like Patti Smith and wrote the score for the movie Love, Actually.

Early in the 1990s, Television got back together to record one studio album (called “Television”) and one live album (called “Live At The Academy”). They have gotten back together from time to time to go on tour. Songs and Other Things was Verlaine’s first new album in a long time. It came out in 2006.

“Dear Tom, the love is huge and will last forever,” Jesse Smith wrote. “My heart is too full to talk about everything right now, and it’s too hard to find the right words.” “The feeling inside is so heavy, but your spirit is light and lifted, and it is everywhere, completely and truly free.”
