Mr. Ray Park, the actor who portrays Han Solo in the Star Wars film series, is well-known for being a laid-back and kind individual. With that kind of reputation, it was all the more shocking when a video of him having oral sex with his wife, Lisa Park, was uploaded to his Instagram account last week, making it even more shocking.
A variety of explanations began to circulate as to why this occurred. Some speculated that Park’s account had been hacked, while others believed that Park had released it in error, and still others believed that Park had made it public as retaliation for his wife’s infidelity. Park has not commented on the speculation.
Unverified Snapchat messages purporting to be from Park’s daughter appeared, trying to accuse him of being unkind and neglectful to his children, further complicating the situation. Fans took to social media to express their displeasure with the actor and demanded that Disney and Lucasfilm replace him in the role of Darth Maul, as had been predicted.
Lisa Park has now posted a photo to her Instagram account in which she claims that the video was accidentally released, that it is extremely distressing that people believe she is unfaithful, that the comments from her children were deliberately fabricated, and that the story is causing the entire family to suffer.
We don’t know how this will all turn out, but Park’s career has been put in jeopardy since the internet controversy erupted last month. In the event that a live-action series is developed, many fans have advocated for him to be replaced by voice actor Sam Witwer in the Darth Maul role. In fact, there have been rumors that Disney is considering a replacement for him in the leading role.
It appears to have worked, as some of the Twitter accounts that were stoking the controversy have since apologized to her and stated that they were misinformed about the situation.

It’s unclear whether this will have a negative impact on Park’s career, but I doubt Disney would be pleased. If Park did, in fact, publish this video by mistake, he owes a heartfelt apology to his wife and children for his actions. The only thing we can do for the time being is trust Lisa Park’s word and hope that the Park family can resolve their differences in a peaceful manner.
