Ree Drummond, better known by her nickname “The Pioneer Woman,” has discussed her parents’ divorce in the past. However, In Touch magazine has obtained an exclusive interview with Drummond in which she reveals the devastating details of the divorce that rocked their relatively tiny Oklahoma city.
In the months leading up to Ree’s own wedding in 1996, her mother, Gerre, divorced her husband of 33 years and later wed the family’s pastor, Doug Schwert. Schwert had been the rector at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in the family’s hometown of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, from 1985 until 1995. Ree’s own wedding took place in 1996. No, She didn’t divorce her husband. Ree and Ladd are still together after 26 years of marriage and recently celebrated their anniversary in September of 2022.
On Instagram, Ree paid tribute to her husband by writing, “26 years ago, I was about to get pregnant with our first kid,” and she continued, “Today, I’m going to undergo a colonoscopy. I’m in love with you, Ladd.
How Did Ree Drummond and Ladd Drummond Meet?
During a night out in Oklahoma, Ree met cattle rancher Ladd. She was ready to relocate to Chicago at the moment. As their romance blossomed, their close bond saved her from going away to the metropolis.
Ree and Ladd took a honeymoon to Australia after their wedding. Nine months later, they welcomed their first child, Alex. Paige, Bryce, and Todd were born into the couple’s family in the years that followed.
