Early Life

In Glenview, Illinois, John Bruce and Jody Yeh had Yeh born on May 22, 1989. As a result, she is of Chinese and Jewish origin. After graduating from Glenbrook South High School in suburban Chicago, she continued her education at the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory.

She was a member of two percussion ensembles at the conservatory. In the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition’s junior class, she took home two gold medals (2004, 2006).

She would relocate to New York City to join the Juilliard School because the music was her first love. The year was 2011, and she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music.

Yeh developed a deep affection for food while living in New York City, and she now spends more time experimenting with cuisine than she does with music. She decided to start a food blog to share her recipes. This was the beginning of her famous career in the food industry.

The book Molly on the Range: Recipes and Stories from an Unusual Life on a Farm (Rodale Books) came out in October 2016. Yeh won the IACP Cookbook Award for the book, which was judged the best in 2017. It was revealed in June 2018 that Yeh would be presenting a culinary show on the Food Network. The Girl Meets Farm television series premiered on June 24, 2018. The ninth season of Girl Meets Farm will premiere on September 19, 2021, and she will star in it. In addition, she was a co-host of From the Top, a podcast promoting emerging classical musicians, which aired in November 2018. Before this, Yeh had made two prior appearances on the show as a teenager, in 2004 and 2007. In 2021, she will host the Ben & Jerry’s Clash of the Cones television programme. Yeh married Nick Hagen, a fellow Juilliard music major, in 2015, and the couple relocated to East Grand Forks, Minnesota, where Hagen is a fifth-generation farmer, in 2016.

Yeh and her husband made the announcement that they were expecting their first child in November of last year. She gave birth to a daughter, Bernadette Rosemary Yeh Hagen, on March 30, 2019. Bernadette Rosemary Yeh Hagen is named after her husband’s great-great-grandfather Bernt (who founded the Hagen farm) and her own great-great-grandfather, Bernard. Yeh and her husband revealed in September 2021 that they were expecting their second child, who would be born in February 2022. Their second daughter, Ira Dorothy Yeh Hagen, was born on February 20, 2022, and is the couple’s third child.
