Hyuna and Dawn, two K-pop stars, are no longer a duo.
The singer of “Change” posted a short statement about her breakup with the ex-member of the Pentagon on Instagram on November 30.
Hyuna wrote in Korean, “We broke up.” “We agreed to stay friends and work together from now on.” “Thank you for always being there for us and watching out for us with love.”
K-pop fans reacted in the comments to the news of the breakup, which happened a few months after the two got engaged in February 2022. ” One fan wrote, “Ok, now I officially don’t believe in love.” Another showed support for the singer by writing, “Hyuna, we’re with you!” We’ll always be there for you! It’s up to you, and of course we’ll back you up! “We Love You!”
Dawn hasn’t said anything about the news in public yet.
Hyuna and Dawn confirmed that they were engaged earlier this year by posting an intimate clip of themselves to Instagram with matching sets of rings on their fingers.
The “Ping Pong” singer wrote “Marry Me” as the caption for the Feb. 3 post of the couple, and Hyuna reposted the video with the words “Of course, it’s a yes.”
The couple dated for the first time in 2016, but they didn’t announce it to the public until 2018. Later that year, the two signed with Psy’s company, P Nation. Hyuna and Dawn, on the other hand, left the label in August.
The “Ice Cream” singer posted the label’s statement on her Instagram on August 29. It said, in part, “Their passion as artists and their consideration and care for the staff became examples for everyone.”
“All of the members of P Nation will remember how much fun it was to work with Hyuna and Dawn for a long time, and we will continue to support them in whatever they do in the future.”
Dawn replied to Hyuna’s post to show his support for her, saying, “Going forward, let’s make music, perform, and love in a free and cool way.” “I Love You.”
He also sent a separate message to his Instagram followers, saying, “Many thanks.” “In the future, I’ll show you an even better side of myself.”
