JoJo Siwa Reveals Bald Spot She Got From ‘Really Bad Stress Rash’ While on ‘Dance Moms’

Last Updated 2 weeks Ago

In April 2022, JoJo Siwa bid goodbye to her iconic ponytail, ushering in an era when ponytails were pulled back extremely tightly and decorated with bows and glitter. The Dance Moms star does have a literal reminder of her beginnings, even though the ponytail may have been replaced by a lovely cropped cut.

Recently, JoJo used TikTok to explain the causes of her bald area. Spoiler alert: the ponytail isn’t to blame. On July 27, JoJo uploaded a video to TikTok with the caption, “When someone discovers my bald spot and asks where it’s from,” turning the camera to display the small patch of hair next to her temple where no hair is currently sprouting.

In a sequence of dramatic and stressed-out pictures from Dance Moms when she was younger, she then reveals that the tight ponytails weren’t to blame for the bald area but rather a stress rash.

JoJo made a second video further elaborating on the reasons why she lost her hair in that tiny spot after some fans expressed concern about the bald spot and its underlying cause. She said, “When I was little I had a really bad stress rash right here on Dance Moms and I would pick at it all day long and I damaged every single hair follicle that has ever been there,” “So now I’m carrying her love with me… right there.”

Jojo may not have much hair, but that doesn’t stop her from trying out different styles. She recently enjoyed experimenting with her chopped hairstyle and tried several different looks both on and off of Dancing with the Stars.

She initially informed Kelly Clarkson that it was time to move on when she did away with the iconic JoJo Siwa bow that frequently accompanied the pony. “She’s just on vacation. A long vacation,” JoJo told the host. “I love my bow and I always will. It’s a piece of my life [but] I’ve had a lot of fun exploring with my hair. Every day I do something fun with it.”
