President Biden claimed to have cancer on Wednesday, pushing the White House press office to swiftly clarify that he was making reference to skin cancer treatment he underwent before to assuming office last year.

The president made the comment during a speech about rising temperatures in which he discussed emissions from oil refineries close to his Claymont, Near, childhood home. At first, it seemed to be an incredibly casual health announcement.

“That’s why I and so damn many other people I grew up with have cancer and why for the longest time Delaware had the highest cancer rate in the nation,” Biden Claimed.

Biden had “non-melanoma skin cancer” treated before he became president, according to a tweet from Washington Post columnist Glenn Kessler, according to the White House spokesperson Andrew Bates.

It’s unclear why Biden decided to discuss his encounter with cancer in the present tense.

Greg Price of XStrategies LLC tweeted in reaction to Kessler, saying, “He said ‘I have cancer’ in the present tense you absolute dips-t.”

The first lady Jill Biden uses the honorific “Dr.” to highlight her 2007 doctorate in education, and anarchist novelist Michael Malice said, “Don’t worry about Joe Biden having cancer, he is married to a doctor,” in reference to the fact.

Skin cancer is very prevalent and typically not life-threatening, especially in older persons who didn’t use sunscreen when they were younger.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Dr. Biden’s doctor, didn’t mention the president’s current cancers in a health report he published last year.

According to O’Connor’s report, Biden’s skin cancer was caused by sun exposure rather than reaction to oil sector chemicals.

O’Connor noted of his patient, a former pool lifeguard, “It is well-established that President Biden did spend a significant deal of time in the sun in his youth.”

“He has had several localized, non-melanoma skin cancers removed with Mohs surgery before he started his presidency. These lesions were completely excised, with clear margins,” the doctor Said.

However, O’Connor added that  “there are no areas suspicious for skin cancer at this time.”

Skin issues might get worse when confronted to air pollution. However, it’s unknown whether Biden has ever connected oil refineries to his skin growths or if medical professionals have made that connection.

As the oldest US president ever, 79-year-old Joe Biden frequently draws criticism from the general public for his mental abilities.

However, he claims that he plans to run for a second term in 2024, barring any serious health issues, and his supporters point out that he has long struggled with mistakes or misleading statements.

While trying to establish a personal connection with his audiences, Biden frequently makes mistakes in his speech.

For instance, following the mass murder of 11 people in 2018, he mentioned to Jewish authorities that he remembered “spending time at” and “going to” the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. White House later claimed that he was considering calling the synagogue’s rabbi in 2019 despite the synagogue’s claim that he had never been there.

In the same month, Biden revealed to a crowd in Idaho that the Boise Cascade lumber and wood products company had made him a “first employment offer.” The business claimed to be unaware of it and that Biden had never previously expressed interest in relocating there.

Although there is no proof, Biden claimed in January that he was detained during civil rights rallies while speaking to students at historically black institutions in Atlanta.

And in May, during the Naval Academy’s graduation ceremony, Biden revealed that the late Sen. J. Caleb Boggs had appointed him to the military academy in 1965. (R-Del.). The Boggs archives could not be searched for proof of the appointment.
