It’s the Katwalk for Kim Kardashian.
The creator of Skims was one of many public figures cast in the Balenciaga Couture presentation on Wednesday during Paris Fashion Week, joining stars like Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa, and Christine Quinn from “Selling Sunset.”
Kardashian, 41, walked the runway in a version of what has essentially become her daily uniform: a skintight, asymmetrical gown with attached gloves that was accessorized with the brand’s divisive “pantashoes”—high-heeled leggings that are actually leggings.
North West, the beauty mogul’s 9-year-old daughter, and Kris Jenner, who also sat in the front row, served as her own cheerleaders for the performance.
Kardashian’s casting is a logical progression in her connection with Balenciaga; in February, she appeared in a campaign for the upscale brand, posing in a curve-hugging catsuit, a leopard-print coat, and other lust-worthy outfits.
Additionally, she has preferred Balenciaga for most of her high-profile outings in recent years. Remember her blacked-out Met Gala 2021 look that obscured her name, her hot pink velvet “SNL” onesie, or the caution tape catsuit she wore at the brand’s final March show?
Kardashian’s ex, Kanye West, who helped inspire her wildly popular Met Gala outfit in September, is credited with introducing her to Demna Gvasalia, the creative director of Balenciaga.
Everyone recognizes her even though there is no brand or face, a source previously told Page Six Style. “Kanye gave her the boldness to challenge people’s creativity and imagination via art.”
On the Paris runway, Kardashian is now breaking barriers.
