Buzz Aldrin “Astronaut” Weds His Longtime Partner On His 93rd Birthday

Buzz Aldrin gets married on 93rd birthday

Buzz Aldrin, who was the second person to walk on the moon, announced on his 93rd birthday that he got married to his long-term partner.

The retired astronaut’s birthday was on Friday, and he wrote on Twitter that he and Dr. Anca Faur, 63, got married in a small ceremony in Los Angeles.

He told his followers that the couple was “as excited as eloping teenagers” and shared two photos from the wedding.

Aldrin wrote, “On my 93rd birthday, which is also the day I’ll be honoured by living aviation legends, I’m happy to announce that my longtime love, Dr. Anca Faur, and I are now married.”

“We got married in a small, private ceremony in Los Angeles, and we’re as happy as teenagers who just got their first car.”

According to Faur’s LinkedIn page, she has been the Executive Vice President of Buzz Aldrin Ventures since 2019.

Aldrin posted two photos from the ceremony on Twitter. One showed him in a suit with an Air Force badge and a medal, and the other showed Faur in a lace dress.

Three times, Aldrin has been married and then divorced. He married Joan Ann Archer in 1954, and they were together for 20 years before getting a divorce. From 1975 to 1978, he was married to Beverly Van Zile. From 1988 to 2012, he was married to Lois Driggs Cannon.

James, Janice, and Andrew are his three children with Joan Ann. He also has one grandson, three great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.

Aldrin became a well-known name all over the world after he went on the Apollo 11 mission to the moon with Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins in July 1969.

In 2009, he said, “People want us to do in a few words what the world did when they were thinking about what we were about to do.”

“Well, we trained for what it felt like,” she said. “We tried to stay as calm as possible and do the best we could.”

He was the second person to walk on the moon, and today he is the only one of the three still alive. Aldrin left NASA in July 1971 and became the head of the Aerospace Research Pilot School at California’s Edwards Air Force Base.
