One half of the “diamond and silk” commentary team, which was very pro-Trump, died on Monday.

Former President Donald Trump broke the news Monday night in a message on his social network, Truth. He said that Lynette Hardaway, who was known as “Diamond” to both her fans and her critics, “passed away at her home.”

Soon after, Hardaway’s death was confirmed on the duo’s official Twitter account, which said that the world “just lost a true angel and warrior patriot.” It wasn’t clear right away how old Hardaway was, but she would have been around 51 years old.

“Diamond paved the way with her passion and love for the whole human race.” Read a message on a page to raise money for her memorial.

“We should always remember how she died in our hearts.” “Please give Diamond’s family the space they need to grieve, but don’t forget to honour the gift she gave us all.”

In his Truth Social post, Trump called Hardaway “our magnificent diamond.” She and her sister, Rochelle “Silk” Richardson, often showed up at Trump rallies.

Trump wrote, “Diamond’s death was totally unexpected, and it’s likely that her big, precious heart just gave out.”

Mike Lindell, who started My Pillow and hosted a video series for the two, told The Daily Beast that Trump’s post was the first time he had heard about Hardaway’s death. Lindell said that Hardaway had been sick, which was true.

The duo’s Twitter account asked fans to pray for Hardaway in November, but it didn’t say what was wrong with her. Hardaway returned to her show briefly in December to dismiss as “fake news” online rumours that the COVID-19 vaccine’s staunch opponent had been hospitalized with the coronavirus. The last episode Hardaway shot was on December 15.

As “Diamond and Silk,” Hardaway and Richardson rose to fame on the right as outspoken African-American supporters of Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign.

When people heard about Hardaway’s death, they posted tributes all over social media. Roger Stone, who is close to Trump, called her “my girlfriend Diamond.”
