The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team is in full swing, and their semester of school is in its latter half.

The team and UMSL Athletics honor select faculty with an appreciation game. Each athlete on the roster of the softball team chose a faculty member that they believed deserved honor for their dedication to teaching.

Student athletes need a little more assistance and flexibility during semesters. They can be on the road for days or gone every other day to travel to multiple games. In these cases, the athletic department and faculty must work diligently and hard to make sure everyone succeeds. The students, however, need to take the initiative and communicate well to make it all work. The Lady Tritons, among the many other student athletes of UMSL, have risen to the challenge and are each grateful to their chosen representatives – their professors.

“Yeah, the faculty are always flexible to our athletes,” said Head Coach Amanda Scott. “We have a great support system with faculty on this campus.”

The Faculty Appreciation Day will take place on the UMSL Softball Field April 14 at 2 p.m. versus the University of Missouri S&T.

Come see the game, your fellow students, and these great faculty members being honored.
