The following is a series of daily crime and incident reports issued by the University of Missouri-St. Louis Police Department from Aug. 24 through 30.
Aug. 24, 2018: An UMSL student created a peace disturbance in the MSC and Thomas Jefferson Library at 9:33 a.m. A delayed report was taken after a student reported cash stolen from an insecure locker. At 2:02 p.m. a laptop and backpack were held for safekeeping. Bel-Nor PD contacted UMSL PD about an open garage door, but the building was reported secured at 11:30 p.m.
Aug. 25, 2018: 7:10 a.m. a student was reported possessing a former UMSL student’s property. A student was checked on by UMSL PD after a parent request at 9:39 a.m. At 10:07 a.m. a contractor injured their hand and sought private medical attention.
Aug. 26, 2018: At 12:49 p.m. a metro passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance because of bee stings.
Aug. 27, 2018: A fire alarm malfunctioned in the Provincial House at 12:15 a.m. A key was turned into UMSL PD at 1:30 p.m. and is being held for safekeeping. At 2:09 p.m. a non-affiliate was arrested for outstanding warrants and was taken to St. Louis County Intake.
Aug. 28, 2018: Property damage was caused to a door by an UMSL student in Oak Hall. At 1:50 p.m. a debit card was found and turned to UMSL PD. A watch was also found and turned into UMSL PD for safekeeping at 3:26 p.m. An UMSL student lost an immigration green card and reported it to UMSL PD at 5:49 p.m.
Aug. 29, 2018: At 9:05 a.m. a student was contacted by UMSL PD after making concerning comments. An UMSL employee was taken to the hospital by ambulance after having difficulty breathing and stomach pains at 11:06 a.m. At 1:37 p.m. cash and credit cards were stolen from a locker in the Rec & Wellness Center. UMSL responded to a disturbance involving two students near Subway at 2:33 p.m. A staff member reported their phone missing at 3:03 p.m. in Oak Hall. An individual was escorted off of campus after removing items from trash cans at 1:01 p.m. At 8:58 p.m. burnt food in Oak Hall triggered a fire alarm. A laptop was found at 9:45 p.m. in Marillac Hall and the owner was notified. At 10:40 p.m. a student left a purse in an office and it was retrieved on Aug. 30.
Aug. 30, 2018: At 9:15 a.m. two vehicles were involved in an auto accident in the West Drive Garage; there were no injuries. UMSL PD verified a sex offender registration at 12:30 p.m. A non-affiliate was taken to a nearby hospital at 2:22 p.m. because of an ankle injury during a basketball game. At 4:44 p.m. in Oak Hall three UMSL students reported their clothing was stolen from their suite. An UMSL student reported being in a confrontation in Lot E with someone they have a restraining order against. This incident occurred on Aug. 29.
