The following is a series of daily crime reports issued by the University of Missouri-St. Louis Police Department since July 18. No information past August 4 is currently available on the daily incident log.
July 18: On July 15 at 10:26 a.m., several UMSL staff members from the Innovative Technology Enterprises Building on World Parkway Circle in Berkeley reported the theft of cash from their offices.
July 20: At 7:45 a.m., UMSL PD assisted Normandy PD on an auto accident scene at 8400 Natural Bridge. At 3:30 p.m., a student reported the theft of license tabs from their car parked in the West Drive Garage. At 10:06 p.m., UMSL PD along with the Northeast Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in a room in Oak Hall. The cause was determined to be a malfunctioning microwave.
July 21: At 11:36 a.m., a staff member was transported from the Millennium Student Center to the hospital by a friend after reporting stomach pains. At 1:30 p.m., a student in Marillac Hall reported the theft of a wallet from their purse. At 5:20 p.m., a student reported the theft of license tags from their car parked in the West Drive Garage.
July 22: At 5 p.m., a student reported being harassed by a campus staff member in Woods Hall. At 8 p.m., a wallet found in Marillac Hall was turned in to the UMSL PD. The owner was notified and later came in to claim the item.
July 23: At 10:43 a.m., a laptop case was found in the J.C. Penney Conference Center and turned in to the UMSL PD. The owner was notified and later came in to claim the item.
July 24: An ID was found in Clark Hall and turned in to UMSL PD for safe keeping at 9:17 p.m.
July 26: The Thomas Jefferson Library was evacuated at 3:10 p.m. due to a fire alarm. There was no fire and the cause of the alarm being tripped has not been determined according to police reports.
July 27: Two delayed reports of theft, both in Express Scripts Hall, from building employees who reported the disappearance of money from their purses between 4 and 6 p.m. on July 26.
July 28: A student living in University Meadows reported at 5:40 p.m. a suspicion of someone having been in their apartment while the student was away. No items were reported missing from the apartment.
July 29: At 7:01 p.m., a campus visitor was reported to be acting suspicious inside the Millennium Student Center and was escorted off campus by police. During the day, a report was filed about an electronic scale being stolen from a lab in the Science Learning Building between July 20 and July 29.
August 1: At 8 p.m., a set of keys was found in the Social Sciences & Business Building and turned in to UMSL PD for safe keeping. At 9:58 p.m., a student at Mansion Hill reported possible harassment via text message. Two delayed report: a staff member at Marillac Hall reported a laptop stolen around June 27, 2016; a student at Mansion Hill reported being raped by an acquaintance in January 2016.
August 2: At 1:10 p.m., a faculty member reported the theft of textbooks from their office in Benton Hall. At 2:15 p.m., a student went to the UMSL PD station to alert police of an individual who had allegedly harassed them at community college. At 2:30 p.m., a staff member reported graffiti in the bathrooms at the J.C. Penney Conference Center as a hate crime.
August 3: At 2:45 p.m., a student reported the theft of their wallet and ID while off campus. At 6 p.m., a student reported being approached by an individual not related to the college asking for payment to avoid arrest.
August 4: At 1:20 p.m., a student reported a lost iPhone in the MSC. At 11:57 p.m., UMSL PD checked on the welfare of a student from the student’s family request. Everything was found to be in order and the student’s father was also present for the check.
