A campus-wide email was distributed on December 13 announcing Ann Tyalor as the new dean of the College of Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She will start her new position January 1, 2018. Taylor previously has served as the interim dean since August 2016 and as the associate dean since her arrival on campus in 2013.
As interim, Ann saw to the successful launch of the Teach in 12 program and helped grow the COE’s innovative Studio School model that has UMSL education students gaining invaluable experience in classrooms across the region. As dean, she intends to advance that community-focus further.
Kristin Sobolik, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs wrote in the email, “Thank you to the search committee for its thorough and concentrated effort in finding the next education dean among top candidates from across the nation. I’m truly excited by the vision and energy Ann will bring to the position.”
