Plant It For The Earth – Day
UPB is giving out plants on the MSC Patio right here on the UMSL campus, starting at 11 a.m. Monday, Apr. 22. Here’s what they say: Planting your own organic fruit or vegetable plant does much more than can be seen with the naked eye. Not only will you create something theraputic for your living space, but you will also help out the earth by growing your own local produce, and cutting down on pesticide and GMO use in the area. Come by the MSC patio to get in on this good, and get much more out of it than you put in.
Electronics Recycling at Busch Stadium
Bring your old electronics to recycling stations outside Busch Stadium downtown. The recycling truck will be there 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 22.
Missouri Botanical Garden
A visit to the Botanical Garden is a great idea for an Earth Day that is expected to be sunny with high temperatures in the low 70s. Enjoy the flowers and visit the gardening center and the Earthways Center (http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/sustainability-conservation/conservation-in-action/at-the-earthways-center.aspx). The Garden also has an Earth Day event on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Here’s what they say: celebrate Earth Day with special exhibits and green events at the Ridgway Visitor Center. A variety of local groups and organizations will be on hand to share information about conservation and protecting the planet.
