Formerly News at Noon, The Current’s news events discussion forum has a new name:
What’s Current Wednesdays!
Sponsored by The Current and The New York Times
“What’s Current Wednesdays” (“News at Noon”) is a monthly forum for student and faculty discussions about current events. Each Wednesday discussion will be led by a faculty expert. A free lunch is provided to the first 25 students, courtesy of The New York Times.
“News at Noon” builds on the Collegiate Readership Program, a national program designed to enhance the learning environment on campuses, by providing weekly forums that encourage faculty and student discussion of current events in the world. Co-sponsored by The Current, the UMSL student newspaper, and the New York Times, the series is designed to encourage college students to read more and be aware of current events.
